MaxQ 120-inch ALR (Ambient Light Rejecting) projector screen paper is a specialized high-tech surface designed to provide a cinematic experience in rooms where lighting cannot be fully controlled. Unlike traditional matte white screens that scatter light in all directions, ALR material uses advanced optical layers to selectively reflect the projector's light toward the audience while "rejecting" or absorbing overhead and side lighting.Key Features and PerformanceLight Suppression: Most 120-inch ALR screens utilize a lenticular or Fresnel microstructure. These microscopic "sawtooth" or circular patterns act as a physical filter, blocking up to 90%–95% of ambient light.Contrast & Color: By preventing ambient light from washing out the image, ALR screens significantly deepen black levels and maintain color saturation.
