The AKG P170 Small Diaphragm Condenser Microphone has a cardioid polar pattern and is intended to record the sound of a variety of acoustic and amplified instruments in live performances, project studios, and home recordings. This microphone, which is provided as a reasonably priced replacement for the vintage AKG C451 B, is excellent for recording instruments such as guitars, strings, drums, hi-hats, and percussion. The thin, 0.5" gold-sputtered diaphragm is capable of managing sound pressure levels up to 155 dB without audible distortion, and it produces a clean sound with quick transients. The distortion-free recording of extremely powerful sound sources, which are frequently used in proximity miking, is made possible with a switchable 20 dB pad. You may use the microphone close to transmitter stations and in conjunction with wireless microphones because of the all-metal body's improved RF interference rejection. The P170 is designed to withstand extreme heat and humidity. It is shielded from the hardships of daily usage by its durable body and strong front grille.
